The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has intensified its commitment to ethical governance by conducting an anti-corruption training workshop for staff at its Kaduna State Coordinating Office, alongside the establishment of a new Anti-Corruption and Transparency Sub-Unit.
Led by Deputy Director RMRDC Anti-corruption Transparency Unit, Alhaji Garba Nasidi, the session emphasised adherence to Standing Orders, operational guidelines, and the formation of a 5-member sub-unit to bolster accountability. The initiative aligns with the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC)’s mandate for federal agencies to institute internal watchdog units to combat fraud and misconduct.
Key strategies outlined during the training included rigorous self-assessment by staff, transparency in official processes, utilization of secure whistleblower channels, strict compliance with regulations, and ongoing ethics education.
Kaduna State Coordinator Mr. Mutallab J.S. called on employees to champion integrity, stating, “The fight against corruption begins with individual responsibility, uphold ethical values in every task.”
The move underscores the RMRDC’s alignment with the federal government’s broader agenda to root out corruption and foster a culture of accountability in public institutions.
