The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) Osun state Coordinating office recently visited Olusegun Okedele Clean Mining Industries Limited’s site in Egbeda, Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State on February 6th, 2025 to explore potential collaboration in gold mineral raw materials development.
The team, led by Osun State Coordinator, Mr. Adeyemi Saheed Adenrele, said the visit was part of RMRDC’s efforts to promote the development and utilization of Nigeria’s abundant raw materials. He observed that under the leadership of the RMRDC Director-General Professor Nnanyelugo Martins Ike-Muonso, the Council is strategically positioning itself to explore collaborations that are productive for sustainable growth and development of Nigeria.
The RMRDC team who visited the site marveled at the quantity of gold and other valuable minerals deposited in the area. They confirmed that Prince Okedele gold site possesses the necessary licenses to mine and has added value to gold development in Osun State.
The CEO of the gold mine, Prince Adekola Timothy Okedele highlighted the challenges the company faces, including pressure from land speculators, unfavorable government policies, lack of support for job creation, and environmental concerns.

The RMRDC team identified areas for improvement, including the introduction of new technologies and equipment.
The Deputy Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Osun State Chapter, Barrister Akin-Ayo Bolarinwa Oladimeji, who also works at the site, emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership in driving growth and development in the mining sector. He urged the government to support such ventures because of their huge income generation is capable of transforming the Nigerian’s economy.
