The Director-General/ Chief Executive Officer of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso, has reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to improving staff welfare and strengthening operational efficiency across its state offices.
Prof. Ike-Muonso gave the assurance during a working visit to the Council’s Ondo State Coordinating Office in Akure recently, where he held a closed-door engagement with staff and management to assess operational challenges confronting the office.
The Director-General, who was received by the Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Tejumola F.A., said the visit formed part of ongoing efforts by the Council’s leadership to deepen engagement with state offices and enhance service delivery nationwide.

During the interactive session, staff raised concerns about deteriorating office furniture and fittings, a poor electricity supply, inadequate internet connectivity, delays in issuing appointment letters, and the need to replace obsolete staff identity cards.
Responding, Prof. Ike-Muonso assured staff that management was already taking steps to improve working conditions across RMRDC state offices.
On the issue of damaged office furniture and fittings, he directed the state Coordinator to make use of available operational allocations to carry out urgent repairs and replacements where necessary.
The DG also moved swiftly to address complaints relating to staff identity cards by contacting the appropriate department at the headquarters for immediate action.
Speaking on electricity challenges, he disclosed that the Council had commenced plans to provide solar power systems for state offices. The intervention, he noted, will be implemented in phases.
He further revealed that arrangements were underway to improve internet connectivity across state offices, adding that deployment would begin once funds are released and that many other issues of concern raised will be duly attended to.
Earlier, the Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Tejumola, commended the Director-General for the visit and described it as timely and encouraging for staff morale.
She noted that despite operational challenges, the office had continued to maintain functional activities and ensure effective service delivery since she assumed office in 2024.
Staff also applauded the DG’s drive to promote responsive leadership, strengthening state offices, and repositioning the Council for greater efficiency nationwide.
They said the visit will boost their morale, as it has provided them with a rare opportunity to directly engage with the DG on longstanding welfare and operational concerns in the Ondo State Coordinating Office.
