As preparations gather momentum for the 2nd African Raw Materials Summit 2026, the Bauchi State Coordinating Office of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has intensified efforts to position indigenous industries at the centre of Africa’s industrial transformation agenda.
In a strategic advocacy visit, the RMRDC Bauchi team, led by the State Coordinator, Mr. Turaki Wambai, paid a courtesy call on the management of Yankari Meat Limited to formally invite the agro-processing company to participate in the continental summit scheduled to hold in Abuja.
The visit reflects the Council’s commitment to strengthening collaboration between government institutions and private sector operators, particularly enterprises driving value addition within the livestock and meat processing value chain.
Speaking during the engagement, Mr. Wambai described the summit as more than a routine gathering, noting that it represents a strategic platform for industrial growth, investment promotion, and regional economic integration across Africa.
According to him, participation in the summit would provide Yankari Meat Limited with the opportunity to showcase its products and innovations, connect with investors and industrial stakeholders, and explore partnerships in modern processing technologies and market expansion initiatives.
He further stated that the Council remains committed to integrating agro-industrial enterprises into national and continental development frameworks aimed at reducing dependence on the exportation of raw materials while promoting local processing and industrialization.
Responding on behalf of the company, the Manager of Yankari Meat Limited, Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed Doji, expressed appreciation to the Council for the invitation and acknowledged the relevance of the summit to the company’s long-term operational objectives.
He noted that the proposed engagement aligns with the company’s vision of expanding production capacity, improving processing standards, and accessing broader and more competitive markets within and beyond Nigeria.
Mr. Doji added that the company has shown strong interest in participating in the summit, subject to internal consultations and the completion of necessary arrangements.
The advocacy visit is considered a significant step toward ensuring that key industrial players from Bauchi State contribute meaningfully to continental discussions on sustainable industrial development and value addition.
Industry stakeholders have continued to commend the RMRDC for bridging the gap between policy formulation and industrial practice through strategic engagements capable of enhancing the visibility and competitiveness of local industries on the African stage.
