The Raw Materials Research and Development Council has lauded the creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial drive of Nigerian women following the successful exhibition segment of the 2026 Katsina Women Influence and Investment Summit (KWIIS).
The exhibition brought together women entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and trade groups from across the country, who displayed a diverse range of locally made products and innovations in food processing, fashion, handicrafts, cosmetics, and other small-scale industrial ventures.
Speaking during the event, the Director of the State Industrial Extension Services Department (SIESD), Dr. (Mrs) Edith Obi, representing the Director-General of RMRDC, Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso, said the exhibition demonstrated the enormous innovative and business potential of Nigerian women.
According to her, the quality of the products and entrepreneurial ideas showcased at the summit reflected the Council’s commitment to promoting value addition, entrepreneurial development, and the utilisation of local raw materials for national industrial growth.

She described the women exhibitors as agents of economic transformation, noting that empowering women through skills acquisition, investment opportunities, and market linkages would significantly boost industrialization, job creation, and sustainable livelihoods in the country.
She further stressed the need for sustained support and policy initiatives that would enable women entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s manufacturing and small-scale industrial sectors.

Dr. Obi expressed optimism that continued investment in women entrepreneurship would strengthen local industries, expand economic opportunities, and accelerate Nigeria’s industrial development agenda.
Stakeholders at the event emphasized the strategic role women continue to play in driving local economic activities, strengthening household incomes, and promoting inclusive economic development and commended the exhibitors for their ingenuity and called for government support for women-led enterprises to drive critical economic growth and grassroots industrial development.
The summit also provided opportunities for networking, mentorship, and knowledge sharing among entrepreneurs, investors, development partners, and support institutions.
The event attracted prominent dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Katsina State and other senior government officials, who toured the exhibition stands and interacted with participants.
