The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Kebbi State Coordinating Office has played a pivotal role in the Fourth Quarter Meeting of critical stakeholders in groundnut export. The meeting organized by the Committee on Export Promotion (SCEP) was held at the Ministry of Commerce Conference Hall, aimed at promoting groundnut exports to China and other Far East countries.
The event brought together key stakeholders from the export and agricultural sectors to discuss strategies for expanding Kebbi State’s groundnut export market.
The RMRDC Kebbi State Coordinating Office provided critical insights into the feasibility of exporting groundnuts, market demands, and the necessary steps to overcome potential challenges in international trade.
Speaking during the event, the State Coordinator of RMRDC Mr. Saidu Abdulkadir emphasized the importance of groundnuts as a key commodity with significant export potential. “Our focus is to support the development of necessary infrastructure and create an enabling environment for seamless export activities. This aligns with RMRDC’s mandate to promote sustainable raw materials development and utilization,” the Coordinator said.
He also mentioned RMRDC ‘s ongoing efforts to ensure value addition of raw materials before exporting them. This he said when actualized will boost raw materials development in Nigeria and beyond.
The meeting highlighted opportunities for groundnut exports to China and the Far East, addressing critical topics such as market entry strategies, quality standards, and logistical requirements. Contributions from the RMRDC, exporters, agricultural experts, and government officials underscored the importance of collaboration to position Kebbi State as a competitive player in the international groundnut market.
Stakeholders praised the RMRDC’s role in providing expert guidance and supporting the state’s export goals. Participants also expressed optimism about the potential for fostering stronger trade ties with China and other Far East nations, given the high demand for high-quality groundnuts.
The event concluded with a call for all stakeholders to work collectively toward achieving export growth and strengthening Kebbi State’s position in global markets.
This meeting serves as a stepping stone toward boosting non-oil exports and creating sustainable economic growth for Kebbi State, with the RMRDC Kebbi State Coordinating Office continuing to lead in providing expert solutions and support for export promotion initiatives.
