The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Kaduna State Coordinating Office, proudly participated in the 1st Kaduna Agricultural Fair, a pioneering event aimed at promoting innovation, collaboration, and support for smallholder farmers in Kaduna State and beyond.
The fair, which took place in Kaduna, was organized by the Small Home Farmers Development Initiative in partnership with Alziara’a Tech, Green Grow fertilizer, and the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC). The event attracted a diverse array of stakeholders, including agro-entrepreneurs, researchers, technology providers, youth-led farming initiatives, and policy advocates, all united by a shared vision to transform the agricultural landscape through practical solutions and innovation.
Representing RMRDC at the event was the Kaduna State Coordinator, Mr. Mutallab J. S, who underscored the Council’s unwavering commitment to supporting the agricultural sector through the development and promotion of indigenous raw materials. In his remarks, Mr. Mutallab applauded the organizers for providing a platform that bridges the gap between innovation and small-scale farming communities.
He reiterated that RMRDC remains dedicated to enhancing local capacity for value addition, sustainable raw materials sourcing, and agricultural industrialization. He also highlighted the importance of building strong linkages between research institutions, agro-processors, and farming cooperatives to drive economic growth and food security.
The fair featured live exhibitions, interactive sessions, and technology showcases. Participants explored topics ranging from climate-smart agriculture to digital tools for productivity, organic farming, agro-financing, and sustainable land use. RMRDC’s exhibition booth drew significant interest from attendees, particularly youth and local entrepreneurs eager to engage with the Council’s research outputs and developmental programs.
The 1st Kaduna Agricultural Fair not only provided a forum for dialogue and collaboration but also emphasized the role of inclusive innovation in advancing the agricultural sector. The event marks a promising step toward building a more resilient, tech-enabled, and self-sustaining agro-economy in Kaduna State.
RMRDC commends all partners involved in this initiative and looks forward to deepening its engagement in future editions and related development driven platforms.
