The Director General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof Nnanyelugo Martin Ike-Muonso has reassured staff of the Council of his unwavering commitment to prioritizing their welfare and ensuring an improvement in their working condition. The DG gave the assurance at the 2nd Joint Congress of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the Academic Staff Union of Research Institutions (ASURI) held at the RMRDC Headquarters, Abuja.

The RMRDC DG reiterated that he remained committed to building a Council where every staff will be proud to work in and identify with. He commended the Executive Committee members of the two Unions for fostering and maintaining industrial peace and harmony in the Council pointing out that progress can only be achieved in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and in a spirit of collective bargaining.
One of the highpoints of the Joint Congress was the presentation of an award of Most Labour Union Friendly Director to the Director, Industrial Plant Equipment Design Department, Engr. Emmanuel Kwaya. Presenting the Award to Engr Kwaya, the Director General stated that he was particularly excited that the Union Executives could find one of the Directors worthy of being recognized for his efforts at ensuring industrial harmony in the Council. Prof Ike-Muonso pointed out that the presentation was a practical demonstration that RMRDC is indeed one family and everything should be done to keep it one family.
