In a strategic effort to strengthen industrial collaboration, a high-level delegation from the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC); led by the President of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Otunba Francis Meshioye, OFR, paid a courtesy visit to the Consulate General of India in Lagos.

The visit is part of the preparations for the Nigeria Manufacturing and Equipment (NME) and the Nigeria Raw Materials (NIRAM) Expo, set to take place from August 5-7, 2025.
These expos serve as vital platforms for fostering partnerships between Nigerian manufacturers and both local and international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), while also showcasing Nigeria’s diverse raw materials for industrial use.

In his remark, Otunba Meshioye expressed his gratitude to the Consul General of India, Mr. Chandramouli Kern, for his warm reception and willingness to strengthen ties with Nigerian manufacturers. He highlighted the importance of deepening Nigeria-India industrial collaboration to unlock new investment opportunities and drive economic growth.
Speaking the Logos State Coordinator Mr. Oluwasola Marinho, who represented the Director-General, RMRDC, Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso, thanked the Consular-General for the warm reception accorded the delegation. He reminded the Consular-General that RMRDC, being a knowledge-based institution, has always adopted the strategy of collaboration with key stakeholders. This is with a view to fostering synergy, innovation, knowledge-sharing and networking with stakeholders, amongst others. He noted that it was, therefore, on the premise that RMRDC is partnering with the MAN to organize the NME/NIRAM Exposition.
He also informed the Consular-General that in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government to promote domestic capacity utilization, the Council is currently sponsoring a Legislative Bill to amend its Act 2022, to ensure at least 30% value-addition to primary raw materials before they are exported. According to him, this effort will strengthen the industrial base of the nation, drive human capital development, promote innovation and technological advancement, as well as enhance the global competitiveness of Nigerian products.
