Renowned communications expert, journalist, and leadership trainer, Eugenia Abu, delivered a compelling lecture on reputation management and stakeholder engagement at the recently organized Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) Senior Management Staff retreat which took place recently in Abuja.
Addressing Directors at the weekend, Mrs. Abu emphasized the critical role of reputation management and stakeholder engagement in achieving organizational success.

Mrs. Abu centered her discussion on the thematic areas of building and maintaining a positive organizational reputation, effective stakeholder engagement strategies, managing crises, and reputation risk, and leveraging digital platforms for stakeholder engagement, and she had this to say:
“Reputation management is a strategic imperative for RMRDC’s success. Engaging stakeholders effectively is crucial in building trust, credibility, and loyalty.”
In his response, the RMRDC Director-General, Professor Nnanyelugo Martin Ike-Muonso praised Abu’s insightful lecture, assuring that the council would develop a reputation management framework that would translate to enhancing its stakeholder engagement initiative. He also resolved to set up a crisis management team that can handle reputation crisis on behalf of the council and leverage the Council’s digital and online platforms for stakeholder engagement, including using the council’s Raw Materials 360 online news portal, Zoom, and other social media platforms.
Discussions focused on how the council can Develop stakeholder engagement policies, and strengthen the Directorate of Corporate Affairs to effectively manage the Council’s reputation management including conducting stakeholder mapping as well as guaranteeing the Council’s enhanced digital presence.
The Council will also implement regular reputation management strategies and mapping, conduct stakeholder engagement training, and develop crisis management strategies required as a way of creating an enduring stakeholder base founded on trust and mutual interest.
The RMRDC Senior Management Staff retreat provided a valuable platform for exploring themes on corporate branding and improved stakeholder relations, equipping them with the knowledge to enhance their Stakeholder management practices.
