The Hon. Commissioner, Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Trade and Investment, Dr John J Etim has pledged to support the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC)in providing necessary information on raw material potentials, availability, and utilization in the state.
He disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Akwa Ibom State Coordinating Office on the 10th of July, 2024 in the company of the Permanent Secretary and Directors from the Ministry. He said he desires to work with relevant stakeholders in promoting raw materials development and the general well-being of the people of Akwa-Ibom state considering the vast natural resources available in the state.

He took a tour of the Council’s Resource Center and lauded the display of information on raw materials in the center, and the efforts and achievements of the Council in local raw materials development so far.
He urged the investors and entrepreneurs in the state to embark on local raw materials production business as it will be sustainable and also encourage cooperative formation that will enable them to transform their small businesses into cottage industries.
The River state coordinator, Mr. Akpan who received the team, expressed his delight at the eagerness of the commissioner in promoting raw materials development in the state. He said it is in line with the Director General, Prof. Nnanyelugo M. Muonso ‘s agenda in running with the mandate of the Council until all is actualized.
