Staff of the Bayelsa State coordinating office were trained on the practical aspects of the second series of the Performance Management System (PMS) on Monday, 21st July 2025, at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The training, facilitated by Mr. Ejiogu Christopher, aimed to establish mastery among staff of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) on the processes of the PMS to enhance job performance.
The session provided hands-on guidance on the effective use of the PMS platform, in alignment with the goals of the Council. The facilitator emphasized the importance of staff becoming familiar with the PMS, describing it as critical to building a well-established RMRDC brand, especially as the civil service increasingly leverages technology and innovation to ensure productivity and quality service delivery.
Mr. Ejiogu carefully explained the five core goals of the Council, laying the foundation for understanding the structure and purpose of the PMS. He also discussed the Key Result Areas (KRAs) and performance objectives, showing how individual roles contribute to broader institutional mandates.
He further gave a detailed explanation of the Task Manager feature, demonstrating how tasks can be created, assigned, monitored, and responded to within the system.
The session was highly educative, equipping staff with practical knowledge. Participants expressed deep appreciation to management for organizing the hands-on training with the PMS software, applauding the system and also expressed optimism about engaging with it to foster a better work culture.
