The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) conducted a 2-day in-house training for the staff of the Consultancy Services Division on world-class feasibility reports and business plan writing.
The training which was held at the Council’s headquarters was aimed at equipping staff with the necessary skills and expertise to deliver world-class consultancy services to stakeholders in the raw material sector.
The Deputy Director, Consultancy Services Division, Mr. Humphrey Umiagbo speaking during the opening emphasized the importance of building the capacity of staff to meet the evolving needs of the sector. He stated that the Council is committed to actualizing its vision to be an indispensable catalyst for industrial growth and development in Nigeria.
This he informed is in line with the Director General, Prof. Nnanyelugo M. Ike-Muonso’s policy direction on commercialization and economics of raw materials research and development in Nigeria. He stated that as a leading research and development institute, it is essential that staff possess the skills and knowledge to provide cutting-edge solutions to clients and stakeholders.
The training program covered a range of topics, including Standard Business Plan, Feasibility Report, Investment Profiling etc.
The training also delved into business start-ups which is usually difficult and requires an understanding of very critical aspects of the business such as reform policies, products, self and competitors, operational plan: Location, personnel, biography, and intellectual properties amongst others.
The training has equipped staff with a proper guide to small and medium enterprises’ international standardized formats and facilitating the process of commercialization which is a big aspect of industrialization.
Mr. Ubimago said the training was part of RMRDC’s ongoing efforts to enhance the capacity of staff and improve service delivery.
While presenting the participants with certificates at the end of the training, he encouraged them to put their new skills into practice.
