In a bid to enhance staff efficiency and workplace effectiveness, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has organized a comprehensive training session for its Bauchi State staff on the newly introduced Performance Management System (PMS).
The one-day training, held at the council’s Bauchi office, was facilitated by a Deputy Director from the RMRDC headquarters, Mrs. Asabe Mustapha, who provided an in-depth explanation of the PMS framework, emphasizing its importance in improving staff productivity and aligning individual performance with organizational goals.
Mrs. Mustapha highlighted that the system is designed not only to monitor progress but also to foster a culture of accountability, continuous feedback, and personal development.
She emphasised the SMART objectives, urging staff to maintain professionalism by making their goals specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and time-bound.
Speaking at the event, the Bauchi State Coordinator of RMRDC, Mr. Turaki Wambai, commended the initiative, describing it as a timely and vital step towards transforming the Council’s operational efficiency at the state level. Noting that the training is a wake-up call for all staff to key into the new system. As it is a pathway to better service delivery and improved results.
Participants expressed appreciation for the training and pledged to implement the knowledge gained to enhance their performance and contribute more effectively to the Council’s mission.
The Council has continuously taken proactive steps in reforming its internal processes, with the introduction of PMS being part of broader reforms aimed at maximizing human resource potential and delivering on its mandate of raw materials development.
