The Director General of Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso has made known his preparedness to work with the Board of Trustees of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Business Membership Organization of Nigeria in areas of consultancy. He made this known when the board of trustees of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Business (MSME) Membership Organization of Nigeria paid a working visit to his office at the RMRDC Headquarters in Abuja recently.

Prof. Ike-Muonso intimated the Board on the significant strides the Council has made in fulfilling its mandates, especially in the areas of value addition to raw materials as well as its planned 10-year partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB).
According to the Chairman Board of Trustees Dr, Albert Olajide Akinyemi, the Board has been working with the Council for years and hopes to continue, because with the RMRDC’s Research Demonstration Plant Complex (RDPC) and MSME on the side together they can go places while noting that the RDPC is one of the best in Africa. He further appreciated the DG for creating time to meet with them.
Speaking further, Dr Albert explained that the MSME Forum is carrying out a number of innovations because one of the Forum’s main duties is to advocate for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). He noted that the forum has set up a Consultancy Unit and is working to set up a Radio and Television Channel where people will have a chance to participate in discussions that can attract them to work with the Board.
The collaboration seeks to leverage expert consultancy and innovative strategies to support the development of local industries and enhance the utilization of indigenous raw materials.
He also made it known that the Cross River State Government has given the Board a four-year contract to use consultancy to help organize, train, and profile MSMEs in the State.
Also, present at the visit was the Director, Planning, Statistics. and Policy Department, Mrs. Rachel Kotso, and the Director of Investment Promotions and Consultancy Services Department, Mr. L.G. Suraj.
