The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has taken center stage after showcasing its achievements and innovations at the expanded national MSME clinic trade fair and exhibition held at the trade fair complex in Ado Ekiti recently.
The Council’s participation in the trade fair aimed to promote its research and development initiatives and showcase the potential of Nigeria’s raw materials sector.
At the RMRDC stand, the state coordinator of Ekiti state, Mr. Awotola B. in the company of other staff treated visitors with the exhibition of various technologies, achievements, innovations, etc by the Council.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Awotola who represented the Director-General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof Nnanyelugo M. Ike- Muonso said the Council’s participation at the trade fair was part of its effort to promote the commercialization of its research results and foster collaboration with industry stakeholders.
He commended the government of Ekiti State for promoting and supporting local industries and MSMEs and emphasized the critical role of such businesses in creating employment and boosting the economy.
Earlier, the Vice President of the Federal Republics of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, lauded the state government for its commitment to the development of MSMEs and announced the launch of the MSME clinic in Ekiti State adding that the clinic is aimed at bridging the gap between the government and local businesses, ensuring that the needs of MSMEs are adequately addressed and policies are implemented to support their growth.
The governor of Ekiti state, Mr. Biodun Abayomi expressed his gratitude to the VP for his support of the growth of the MSME clinic which was launched to bridge the gap between the Government and the citizens he however encouraged people to embrace unity for the peace of the community and nation at large.
The event further witnessed the inspection of all the exhibitions stands by the governor of Ekiti state, the deputy governor of Ekiti state, Chief Mrs. Monisade Afuye, the honourable Minister of the Solid Minerals, Dr. Dele Alake, the Permanent Secretary of Ekiti State Ministry of Industry and other dignitaries.
The RMRDC ‘s participation in the trade fair was widely commended by visitors and stakeholders, who praised the Council’s effort to promote the development of Nigeria’s raw material sector.
