In an effort to advance the plastic sector in the Country, the Head, of Raw Materials Research Development Council (RMRDC) Lagos Office Directorate, Mr. Oluwasola Marinho was engaged in a strategic discussion with stakeholders in the polymer technology and plastics industry during the annual international Complete Plastics (COMPLAST 2024) trade exhibition.
The event, which was held at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, recently, was organized by Smart Expos and Fairs, India Pvt. Ltd. The exhibition brought together key players in polymer technology, particularly plastic manufacturers, to explore cutting-edge technological solutions to industry challenges.
Mr. Marinho said this year’s event highlighted technological advancements in additive manufacturing, bioplastics, and recycling technologies, showcasing the entire value-chain components of the plastics industry.
The exhibition featured a wide range of machinery and equipment, including injection molding machines and 3D printing technology.
RMRDC team toured the exhibition stands to review the latest innovations available to seek opportunities for collaboration on patenting and commercializing research and development efforts.

Marinho emphasized that the nation needs to leapfrog certain stages in industrialization to catch up with the rest of the world. One of such ways, he said is by adopting the distributed manufacturing concept through participatory technology development with relevant stakeholders.
The exhibition also attracted leading companies from India, China, and other countries, promoting collaborations, bilateral trade, and strong relationships within Nigeria’s dynamic plastics market and the global industry.
