The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Zamfara State Office, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable industrial and economic growth with its participation in the official launch of the Zamfara State 10-Year Development Plan (2025–2034), a strategic blueprint aimed at driving the state’s socio-economic transformation over the next decade.
The unveiling ceremony, held on Friday, 5th December 2025, at the Garba Nadama Hall, J. B. Yakubu Secretariat, Gusau, brought together key government institutions, development experts, and stakeholders involved in shaping Zamfara’s long-term development agenda.
The RMRDC delegation was led by the Zamfara State Coordinator, Mr Y. M. Hayatu, signifying RMRDC’s sustained engagement in state-led development initiatives, particularly those focused on industrial growth, agricultural transformation, and the efficient utilisation of raw materials across the state’s 14 Local Government Areas.
Unveiling the plan, Governor Dauda Lawal described the document as an evidence-based roadmap developed through extensive data analysis and stakeholder consultations. He expressed confidence that Zamfara’s vast agricultural and natural resource endowments would be optimally harnessed through strategic partnerships, improved agro-processing systems, and strengthened value-chain development. According to the Governor, the plan is designed to position Zamfara as a model for inclusive and transformative economic growth in Nigeria.

RMRDC’s presence at the event further emphasises the Council’s alignment with policies and frameworks that promote raw materials development, value addition, and industrialisation. As Zamfara embarks on the implementation of its decade-long development agenda, the Council is expected to play a key role in supporting sectors driven by research, innovation, and the sustainable exploitation of indigenous resources.
The event was attended by senior government officials, development consultants, representatives of traditional institutions, and stakeholders from critical sectors of the state’s economy, all united in their commitment to building a secure, prosperous, and inclusive Zamfara State.
