The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) and the Oyo State Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives have strengthened their partnership following a courtesy visit aimed at enhancing industrial collaboration and investment opportunities in the state.
The meeting was held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Ministry, bringing together officials from both institutions to deliberate on key areas of cooperation and development.
The RMRDC delegation led by the Oyo State Coordinator, Deputy Director, Mr. O.A. Adeogun were received by the Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment, Prince Adeniyi Adeboso, and other key Ministry officials including Director of Trade, Mrs. Modupe Adeshina; Director of Administration, Mrs. Omotade; Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Rhoda Adeoti, and Press Officer, Mr. Adeode Olabisi.
The meeting addressed key issues including strategic planning for upcoming trade fairs, with both parties exploring areas of collaboration, while the Ministry requested a formal proposal from RMRDC to guide coordinated participation and programme execution.

The meeting also reviewed developments surrounding the proposed Resource Centre, with emphasis on its establishment and long-term sustainability. The State Government assured RMRDC of its commitment to securing a permanent site by facilitating the acquisition of suitable land, with further engagements to be conducted through formal communication channels.
In addition, both parties explored opportunities for engagement in regional and investment-driven programmes such as the African Raw Materials Summit and the Investor’s Forum.
The Honourable Commissioner expressed willingness to participate in the summit upon receiving an official invitation and reaffirmed commitment to future Investor’s Forum events. Key agro-raw materials and mineral raw materials projects were also highlighted as priority areas for collaboration.
The visit resulted in strengthened institutional relationships, agreement in principle for RMRDC’s participation in future trade fairs, and the establishment of a clear pathway for sustained collaboration. It further underscores ongoing efforts to promote industrial development, attract investment, and enhance raw materials utilisation in Oyo State and the South-West region.
