The Osun State office of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has engaged Governor Ademola Adeleke in a bid to secure strategic collaboration ahead of the upcoming Africa Raw Materials Summit. The state coordinator of the council, Mr. Adeyemi Saheed Adenrele , led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House, Osogbo.

During the visit, Mr. Adeyemi formally presented an invitation to the Africa Raw Materials Summit, an international forum aimed at unlocking Africa’s raw materials potential and fostering sustainable industrial growth. The invitation was received on behalf of the governor by his Principal Private Secretary to the Governor Mr Toba Aluko, who expressed appreciation and promised to convey the message.

Mr. Adeyemi emphasized the summit’s potential to catalyze development in Osun State, highlighting opportunities for value addition, investment, and job creation through better utilization of local raw materials. He appealed for the governor’s support in positioning Osun as a key player in Nigeria’s raw materials value chain.
“By working together, we can unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s raw materials and drive economic growth and development in Osun State and beyond.”, Mr. Adeyemi Stated
Governor Adeleke, through his PA, conveyed his warm regards to the RMRDC team and acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in accelerating the state’s economic transformation. He assured the council of the administration’s willingness to collaborate on initiatives that align with Osun’s development agenda.
The Africa Raw Materials Summit is scheduled to hold from the 20th to 22nd May 2025 at the Continental hotel Abuja and will attract stakeholders from across the continent, including policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders.
