Osun State is gearing up to showcase its vast natural resources and investment potential at the upcoming Africa Raw Materials Summit, with Governor Ademola Adeleke Nurudeen Jackson confirming his participation. This significant development follows a productive meeting between the Osun State Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), during which the state’s participation in the summit was strategically mapped out.
In a statement during the meeting, Hon. Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, expressed deep appreciation for the RMRDC’s ongoing efforts in driving national development. The Commissioner acknowledged the organization’s pivotal role in unlocking the economic potential of raw materials, emphasizing the need for careful planning and execution as the state prepares for the summit.

Osun State’s strategy for the summit will focus on effective documentation and extensive media coverage. The state plans to utilize various media platforms to highlight its achievements, innovations, and the vast investment opportunities its resources offer. Among the key resources Osun plans to showcase are industrial applications of cocoa husk, cassava derivatives, and mineral-based products, all of which present significant potential for investment. The state’s goal is to captivate potential investors by presenting these resources in an engaging and accessible manner.
As part of the strategy to ensure a dynamic presentation, the Commissioner advised that the state’s exhibition be interactive, creative, and reflect practical value. This approach aims not only to attract investors but also to underline Osun State’s commitment to innovation and industrial development. The Commissioner also received assurances that professional documentation and media coverage would be prioritized, ensuring the state’s visibility during the event and effective promotion post-summit.
The Osun-RMRDC State Coordinator, Mr. Adeyemi S.A., expressed gratitude to Governor Adeleke and Commissioner Jenyo for facilitating the state’s participation in the summit. He also commended the Director-General of RMRDC, Professor Martins Ike-Muonso Nnyelogu, for his visionary leadership in transforming Africa, and particularly Nigeria, into a key player in the global industrial sector by leveraging the continent’s raw materials.
Osun State’s participation in the Africa Raw Materials Summit underlines the state’s commitment to economic growth and industrialization. The summit, with Governor Adeleke’s confirmed attendance, offers a valuable opportunity to showcase Osun’s resources, attract investments, and forge strategic partnerships.
This initiative positions Osun State on a path toward sustained development, fueled by RMRDC’s overarching vision of an industrial revolution driven by Africa’s abundant raw materials.
