A team from the Nasarawa State Coordinating Office of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (FMMSD), Nasarawa State, to deepen collaboration towards the sustainable development and utilization of indigenous mineral raw materials.
During the visit, the RMRDC State Coordinator, Mr. A. Y. Alaku informed the Mines Officer of the FMMSD, Engr. Kabir Umar, that the visit was necessitated by a need to renew the synergy between both establishments particularly in the existing strategic areas of collaboration which include recommending suitable technologies for raw materials utilization, fostering local content in Nigeria’s industrial sector, and driving economic growth through value addition in the state.
Mr. Alaku further reiterated RMRDC’s vision of leading Nigeria’s transformation by harnessing natural resources for its industrial excellence.
In the course of discussions, the Senior Administrative Officer of RMRDC, Mrs. Amina Dahiru, emphasized the Council’s role in advising policymakers, government, and industrialists on conservation, raw material sourcing, and the dissemination of research findings that promote industrial growth.
Responding, Engr. Umar commended RMRDC’s impact in the state and pledged the ministry’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with it, particularly in the area of processing mineral raw materials and promoting technology-driven initiatives.
The discussions rounded off on a positive note with both agencies agreeing to synergize efforts in promoting value addition and deploying modern processing technologies to drive industrial excellence and sustainable development in Nasarawa State.
