In a renewed drive to becoming a continental leader in the raw materials research and development ecosystem, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has concluded plans to host the first of its kind program presentation and dialogue session with strategic donor agencies and development partners in Abuja. The Director General of RMRDC, Prof Nnanyelugo M. Ike-Muonso stated this in the October edition of his monthly address to staff of the Council.
Prof Ike-Muonso emphasized that the event is designed to showcase the Council’s programs and projects as well as explore technical funding and other opportunities and support for the RMRDC’s proposed ten-year roadmap to be launched soon. According to the Director General, “…this maiden edition of our program presentation and dialogue session which promises to be one of the shining moments of RMRDC, is the first in the series for our transition to continental leadership of the raw materials ecosystem”. He noted further that it will be a gathering of development and donor partners, business councils, financial institutions as well as the diplomatic community.
In a related development, Prof Ike-Muonso further noted that the first phase of the Raw Materials Information Management System (RMIMS) has been completed and presented for in-house assessment while efforts are ongoing for the database to be presented for stakeholder assessment and input before it is launched. The RMIMS according to the RMRDC DG, will provide a rich and robust set of technical and investment information for investors, researchers, industry and policy makers, Prof Ike-Muonso stated.
The program presentation and dialogue session is billed to take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the RMRDC Headquarters, Abuja.
