The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has taken a significant step forward in promoting the development and utilization of Nigeria’s raw materials. A team from the Osun State office of the RMRDC recently visited the National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI) in Iresi, Osun State.

The visit, which was aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two organizations, has yielded fruitful results. The Osun-RMRDC team was received by the Station Manager of the NRCRI, Dr. Mrs. Akinbo-Ajifowowe Oladunni, who briefed them on the institute’s research activities and initiatives.
The Osun RMRDC Coordinator, Mr. Adeyemi Saheed, acknowledged the efforts of the Director-General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Professor Nnayelugo Martins Ike-Muonso, in promoting the development and utilization of Nigeria’s raw materials.
He observed that Professor Ike-Muonso has been instrumental in driving the Council’s mandate forward, with a focus on sustainable industrial growth and economic development. Under his leadership, the RMRDC has achieved significant milestones in promoting local content and industrial growth in Nigeria.
The visit has paved the way for a potential collaboration between the RMRDC and the NRCRI. The two organizations are expected to work together on research projects, technology transfer, and capacity building initiatives.

The Osun-RMRDC State Coordinator, Mr. Adeyemi Saheed Adenrele, who led the team to the NRCRI, expressed his gratitude to the institute’s management for the warm reception. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the RMRDC and research institutions like the NRCRI in promoting the development and utilization of Nigeria’s raw materials.
