The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) FCT Coordinating Office has honoured staff for their dedication, teamwork, and innovation during its End-of-Year Party and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, November 13, at Amazon Kayak Garden, Jabi, Abuja.
In his welcome address, the FCT State Coordinator, Mr Olajubu Olatubosun, commended staff for their discipline and commitment, describing 2025 as a year of “tremendous growth, teamwork, and innovation. “We celebrate our staff’s dedication and set the stage for an even more productive 2026,” he said. He expressed optimism for greater achievements in the coming year.

Presenting the Year-in-Review Highlights, Hajia Safiya Ahmed outlined several milestones, including the establishment of a fully equipped modern office and the introduction of new staff-wellbeing initiatives. She noted that the office executed six in-house trainings and deployed 25 staff to the headquarters for further capacity development.
The office also paid working visits to strategic institutions, including the FCTA, SMEDAN, AEA, ACCI and FADAMA, aimed at strengthening knowledge sharing and inter-agency collaboration.
On research and industrial development, she disclosed that projects focused on ginger, shea nuts and herbal products contributed significantly to industrial utilization. The Office also successfully convened an Investors’ Forum on the Ginger Value Chain, which attracted investors and provided support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The ceremony featured motivational remarks from the Deputy Director, Leather Products, Dr Kike Oloruntoba, and Deputy Director, NCCOD, Dr Asabe Mustapha, who represented the Overseeing Director of SIESD, Dr Edith Obi.
Goodwill messages were delivered by dignitaries, including officials of the FCTA Science & Technology Department, CSDP, and representatives of NASU and ASURI, led by Comrade Smart Osuoha, Comrade Femi Oniyiku, Rukaiyat Muhammed, and Comrade Dele Fatoyinbo. Special recognition was also given to Hajia Aisha Mohammed and Hajia Hadiza Yayale Ahmed, both of whom were recently redeployed to headquarters, for their contributions to the Office’s progress.
The highlight of the event was the Awards Presentation, which honoured staff for their excellence, punctuality, and teamwork. The award recipients were:

- Project Execution Staff: Mrs S. M. Abbas
- Best Dressed Female Staff:Mrs Joy Anyating
- Best Dressed Male Staff: Mr Ilemona Daniel Sabo
- Team Spirit Award: Mrs Hadiza M. Baba
- Most Improved Staff: Mrs S. M. Abbas
- Coordinator’s Best Staff: Mrs Victoria Ameh
- Best Staff of the Year (Staff Choice Award)
The ceremony featured music, dance, lunch, group photographs and networking sessions, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere that strengthened staff bonds and reaffirmed their shared commitment to excellence.
The 2025 End-of-Year celebration reinforces RMRDC FCT Office’s dedication to staff development, industrial promotion and stakeholder engagement. It also set a strong foundation for a more impactful and innovative 2026, marking the year as one defined by achievements, collaboration and renewed team spirit.
