In a bid to align with the Federal Government’s new civil service reform aimed at going paperless, and to key into the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC)’s organizational objective of exploring the Performance Management System (PMS) for ensuring productivity, transparency, and accountability in staff conduct, the RMRDC Ekiti State Office held a one-day training programme.
The training, facilitated by Mr. Suleiman Ciroma from the RMRDC Headquarters, Abuja, was held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the RMRDC Ekiti Coordinating Office, Trade Fair Complex, Basiri, Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.

The Acting State Coordinator, Mr. Mathew Giwa, encouraged staff members to give the training its deserved attention and participate actively to ensure that the objectives of the programme were achieved. He emphasized that the training was organized to ensure checks and balances and to promote effective service delivery in line with the Council’s programmes and activities in Ekiti State.
In his address, Mr. Suleiman Ciroma introduced the concept and structure of the PMS. He guided staff on how to apply Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to various assignments and emphasized the need to ensure that all tasks assigned by superior officers are carried out in line with PMS goals and expectations.
He further noted that working in line with PMS would enhance staff productivity and performance measurement across departments. The training also included a detailed, practical demonstration on how to use the PMS dashboard and the icons embedded in it to assign tasks and report office activities to the appropriate authorities.
The training prompted a series of questions, which were addressed by the facilitator. Mr. Suleiman further encouraged staff to support the State Coordinator and comply with directives from the headquarters to achieve the strategic goals of the Council.
In her closing remarks, Mrs. Oyeyemi Deborah, the Principal Confidential Secretary, commended the Council’s management for organizing the training. She described it as timely and beneficial, adding that it provided insight into integrating PMS indicators into daily work and ensuring that tasks assigned by superiors are completed efficiently, promptly, and in line with expected standards.
