The Raw Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has disclosed its plans to collaborate with the Nile University of Abuja in building the capacity of staff in entrepreneurship, leadership development, Commercialization, and grant sourcing.

This was made known when a team from Nile University visited the Director-General of RMRDC, Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso, at the RMRDC headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, 2nd April 2025.
The team made of four members, led by Mr. Gerald Osugo explained that Nile University is a member of the Honoris United University, which is the first and largest pan-African private higher education network committed to transforming lives through relevant education for lifetime success.
Mr Gerald stated that the visit aimed to work out areas of collaboration with RMRDC through the 3 units of the University: The Nile University, Nile Consult and Services Limited, and Nile Online.
He informed that Nile Online is a digital education platform and a subsidiary of Nile University offering online and hybrid courses, including degree programs and short courses with a focus on flexibility and engagement, while the Nile Consult bridges the gap between academia and industry demands using multidisciplinary expertise and cutting-edge facilities to drive innovation and growth in every sector.

The DG RMRDC commended the University for fostering innovation through its wide range of activities. He said RMRDC would be collaborating with the University to train staff in enhancing development and operational efficiency in the areas of Commercialization, Entrepreneurship leadership and grant sourcing.
He observed that the training would be for selected staff and members of the RMRDC management team, also taking advantage of the online programs.
Prof. Ike-Muonso also informed Nile team about the RMRDC Training School which he said was already in operation in partnership with Nassarawa State University Keffi, African University of Science and Technology and Taraba State University respectively. He observed that Nile University joining the team will enrich the process.
RMRDC management team member suggested that a program be built around raw materials value addition which they said would be beneficial to both parties.
Present also at the meeting was the management team from RMRDC: the Director of the Planning, Statistics and Policy Department (PSPD), Mrs Rachel Kotso; Director, Administrative and Human Resources Management Department (AHRMD) Mr. Lawal G. Suraj; Director, Directorate of Corporate Affairs (DCA), Mr. C. O. Ngaha; Deputy Director, DCA, Dr. (Mrs.) Grace U. Abidoye; Deputy Director, RMRDC Training School (RTS), Dr. Ify Olife and the consultant to RMRDC, Prof Bernard Odoh.
