In furtherance of its commitment to modernizing administrative processes and enhancing staff productivity, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) held the second phase of its Performance Management System (PMS) training for staff in Awka Anambra State office.
The training, facilitated by Mr. Christopher, began with an overview of the Council’s five core goals, laying the foundation for understanding how individual roles align with broader institutional objectives. He guided participants through the identification and alignment of key Results Areas (KRAs) and how to formulate clear, measurable objectives within the PMS structure.
He emphasised that the training was designed to reinforce staff proficiency in using the platform, thereby ensuring seamless adoption and real-time performance tracking. The initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s directive to eliminate the use of paper-based system in the civil service and transition to more efficient, tech-driven process.
During the training the facilitator provided a comprehensive, practical walkthrough of the PMS platform, focusing on task assignment work flow and performance tracking.
In another session, participants received hands-on guidance on how to input work plans, update daily task entries, and track performance indicators directly through the platform and staff showed strong commitment to the Council’s digital transformation goals.
A major highlight of the training was the deep dive into the Task Manager feature, a central component of the platform that enables real-time assignment, tracking, and feedback on tasks. Staff engaged with live demonstrations, gaining first-hand experience in using the system effectively.
The State Coordinator, Mrs. Uche Arinze commended the management of the Council for prioritizing staff capacity development and urged the last to put in their best towards ensuring the Council achieve its mandate.
Speaking at the end of the session, participants expressed appreciation for the training and the pledged their commitment to engage with the PMS platform. Many described the session as timely and relevant, noting its potential to streamline workflow and foster greater accountability.
The Council remains committed to equipping its workforce with the tools and knowledge required for effective service delivery in a digitally evolving administrative landscape.
