RMRDC, AfDB Commence Engagement On Roadmap For Raw Materials Financing And Investment

The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have commenced discussions aimed at developing a 10-year roadmap for financing raw materials research activities as well as promote raw materials investment in Nigeria. The Director General of RMRDC, Prof Nnanyelugo Martin Ike-Muonso made this known in the Council’s headquarters when he received reports of a Committee on Development of Operational Manual and Repositioning of RMRDC State Coordinating Offices for Enhanced Performance and Productivity. Prof Ike-Muonso revealed that the AfDB expressed willingness to support RMRDC on strategic areas of the Council’s programmes and projects with the aim of fast tracking Nigeria’s industrial development.

 

 

The DG stated that RMRDC State Coordinating Offices will play significant roles in this partnership and as such must be fully digitalized and automated to effectively deliver on the mandate of the Council.

 

Presenting the reports to the DG, the Chairman of the Committee, Dr Sab Ebiriekwe thanked the DG for the opportunity given to him and members of the Committee to contribute to the repositioning of the Council. He informed the DG that members of the Committee adopted a comprehensive methodology to arrive at their far-reaching recommendations. Dr. Ebiriekwe stated that the operational manual being presented is designed to drive consistency, improve coordination and boost productivity across RMRDC States Coordinating Offices. He expressed optimism that when implemented the report will ensure that the State Coordinating Offices imbibe global best practices in their operations.

 

Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso commended members of the Committee for Job well done and assured that the recommendations will be implemented without any delays.
