The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso, has pledged strategic reform overhaul of the Council through precision staff training and capacity development that will reposition the Council for excellence service delivery to the nation.

Addressing Council staff during his visit to the Lagos Office on Victoria Arobieke Street, Lekki, Lagos State, the DG, stated that that staff will be encouraged to enhance their academic pursuit provided it will add up to the overall growth of the Council.
While acknowledging that it is a new dawn at the Council, Prof. Ike-Muonso, urged the staff to buckle up, adding that any form of indolence across the rank and file in the organisation will no longer be tolerated in any of its offices.
The DG who could not conceal his excitement at the visit, said he had made arrangements for 2,500 computers kits and lap-tops to be provided for members in staff to amp their work flow.
He added that the systems would be supplied in batches of 500 to as quickly as possible assuage the suffering of officers, starting with the Directors and Deputy Directors, in the first instalment.
On the overarching need of the staff to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s digitization work flow, he said plans were on to constitute a Programme Development and Web Management Team that would form the core of the digitalization and database drive of Council’s activities, programmes, projects and efficiency.
He stated stated that he is scommitted to re-possessing the Council’s property fully in compliance with the verdict from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), and he will ensure productivity is rewarded.
He further stated that arrangement has been made for the acquisition of 2,500 computers kits and lap-tops to be provided for staff members.

According to the DG, members of staff who have served for too long in a particular Office should expect to be redeployed to other offices in order to ensure efficiency in the system.
Earlier in his remark, the Head of the Lagos Office Directorate, Mr. John Marinho acknowledged the need for the Council to play a strategic role in developing innovative pathways for the prosperity of the nation through the deployment of innovation, science and technology. He said he was pleased with the demonstration of commitment by the DG.
Marinho, went further to list some of the challenges the office was facing to include lack of office tools as well as some infrastructures.
The DG/CEO, was accompanied on the trip by the Special Adviser, Administration, to the Minster of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonna Roberts, the Director, Industrial Research Coordination Department, Business Innovation Centre, Mr. John Obekpa, the Director, Administration and Human Resource Department, Mr. Felix Adigwe and the Head, Internally Generated Revenue Division, Mr. Blessing Odivwri.
