The Director General of Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso has tasked staff of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs to come up with innovative ways to effectively communicate the RMRDC brand to the outside world. The DG gave the challenge on the second day of a 3-day Media Masterclass designed to further build the capacity of staff of the Directorate in Abuja. Prof Ike-Muonso stated that the Directorate of Corporate Affairs remains the most important and critical Department in his vision of the new RMRDC. The DG informed participants that he was impressed with the quality of training being undertaken by the facilitators. He expressed hope that the next phase of the training would be more specialized as staff should be trained on areas where they demonstrate competence and specialty. Prof Ike-Muonso equally commended the organizers of the Media Masterclass program – West Africa Broadcast & Media Academy (WABMA) for the calibre of facilitators handling the training sessions. He assured WABMA Executive Director, Mr Mike Yawe that with the positive feedbacks from participants, there was a need to arrange a more in-depth and intensive training in specialized fields for the staff.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Director, Directorate of Corporate Affairs, Mr Chukwuma Ngaha urged participants to apply the skills from the 3 days training to their official and thereby contribute meaningfully to the overall achievement of the Council’s mandate. He expressed optimism that the facilitators will leave no stone unturned in their effort to impart participants with the required skills and knowledge to excel in an ever dynamic work environment.
The Media Masterclass program saw participants being trained on various aspects covering, Content Generation and Production, Storytelling, Public Speaking, Setting up/managing online radio, Video & Audio Editing, Graphic Designs, and Social Media Management.
