The Pesticidal Plant Society (PPS) of Nigeria has announced a strategic partnership with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) aimed at building the capacity of staff. This was made known when a team led by Prof. Samuel Anjorin of University of Abuja visited the Council recently.
Prof. Anjorin who represented the President of the society Dr. Simeon Okweche and was received by the Director General, RMRDC, Prof. Nnanyelugo M. Ike- Muonso said the collaboration is expected to foster innovation and enhance the skills and knowledge of staff in Pesticidal plant research and development.

Speaking further, Prof. Anjorin said the society will be having her Conference in the Council soon, and he is glad that based on the agreement reached with the DG, 100 staff will be registered as members of the society all fees paid, hence building their capacity.
He stated that the event will equip staff with the latest techniques and advancement in Pesticidal plant science and observed that these efforts are anticipated to boost the Councils ability to develop and promote sustainable, plant base control solutions .
Prof. Nnanyelugo said his administration is geared to strategic partnerships that the two parties will benefit rather than a parasitic one. He said organization who have something to offer to the Council are open to collaboration. He pledged to give the society hall for the Conference in return and buses to convey participants during the Conference.
The Deputy Director, Raw Materials Quality Assurance Division(RMQAD) , Dr. Obiageli Okafor, who is the lead member of the society from RMRDC expressed her appreciation to the DG and made a presentation on behalf of the society to the DG to officially welcome him to his new position.
