In a bid to foster greater inclusiveness in the development and utilization of Nigeria’s abundant natural resources, Napozino Farms Limited, a leading agro-allied firm based in Ellu, Isoko South LGA, Delta State, has called for improved collaboration with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC). The Managing Director of the farm, Apostle Napoleon Athakpokri, made this appeal during an industrial visit by the RMRDC Delta State Coordinating Office, led by Mr. Joe Ezimadu.
During the visit, Apostle Athakpokri emphasized the importance of the RMRDC’s mandate, particularly the Council’s industrial visitation programs, which facilitate the dissemination of research findings and new technologies that can be commercialized or developed on a pilot scale. He expressed his desire for a closer partnership with the RMRDC, especially in fish and animal feed formulation and production. According to him, this is one of the most significant challenges faced by agropreneurs in the country.

In his response, Mr. Ezimadu highlighted the Council’s commitment to supporting local initiatives that align with its mission of fostering industrial growth through the utilization of raw materials. He noted that the Council’s ongoing industrial visits are crucial for identifying and promoting innovative solutions that can enhance Nigeria’s agro-industrial sector.
Apostle Athakpokri also took the opportunity to outline the core mission and services of Napozino Farms, which include the sale of improved seeds and seedlings, farm setup, agricultural pest and disease control, fishery, training, consulting, and retirement planning. He shared that the farm has successfully conducted several training sessions, with some of its trainees now exporting agricultural produce abroad. This, he said, underscores the growing interest in agribusiness among both organizations and individuals.
The RMRDC team also had the opportunity to witness one of the farm’s training sessions and scheduled a follow-up meeting to further discuss potential areas of collaboration.
