In a bid for continuous development and promotion of abundant raw materials in Nigeria, The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) Kaduna State Coordinating Office, in collaboration with Hajnaby Ventures Nigeria Limited, recently organized a one-day sensitization workshop on Baobab value chain development.
Speaking, the Director-General/CEO of RMRDC, Prof. Nnanyelugo M. Ike-Muonsu who was represented by the Director, State Industrial Extension Service Department (SIESD) Mr. Lawal Suraj, emphasized on RMRDC’s crucial role in driving innovation, competitiveness, and value addition across various sectors, including agriculture.

He highlighted Baobab (Adansonia digitata) as a locally available plant resource with multifaceted industrial and commercial potentials, offering socio-economic benefits in food and nutrition, medicine, agriculture, ornamentals, environment, renewable energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and sanitary hygiene.
