The Acting Provost, Federal College of Education Technical Gusau (FCET), Dr. Onazi Bosede Oluwatoyin, has expressed the institution’s readiness to collaborate with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) to host the proposed Raw Materials and Products Testing and Certification Laboratory Centre within the College premises.
This commitment was made when a delegation from the Zamfara State Coordinating Office of the RMRDC paid a working visit to the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau, recently, received by the Dean, Faculty of Science and Laboratory Technology FCET Gusau, Dr. Yahaya Maradun.
The delegation was led by Principal Executive Officer II , Mr. A. D. Muhammed, accompanied by Senior Officer II, Mr. Zakariya H. M.; Executive Officer, and others.

While briefing the Acting Provost, Mr. A. D. Muhammed explained that the visit was aimed at seeking viable collaboration between the institution and the Council towards establishing a Raw Materials and Products Testing and Certification Laboratory Centre in the state. He noted that the initiative aligns with the RMRDC (Amendment) Act, 2022, as well as the 30% Value Addition Bill recently passed by the National Assembly and currently awaiting Presidential assent.
He added that the Council has already established a world-class Raw Materials and Products Testing Laboratory located within the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Abuja. The laboratory is ISO/IEC-accredited and equipped with state-of-the-art machines and instruments to provide testing and certification services to raw materials producers, industrial users, and researchers nationwide.
In her remarks, the Acting Provost reiterated the institution’s readiness to support initiatives that enhance the development and utilization of Nigeria’s natural resources. She affirmed the College’s commitment to promoting the objectives of the 30% value addition policy in local raw materials processing. She further assured the delegation of the institution’s full cooperation to ensure the success of the project.
