The Director-General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Professor Nnanyelugo M. Ike-Muonso, has promised to resuscitate the Glazier Putty Plant during a working visit to the Council’s Edo State Coordinating Office.
The plant, which was established as a collaboration between RMRDC and the Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria, was set up to utilize rubber seed oil for the production of paint. The plant was abandoned and currently needs over hauling and commercialisation to maximize it full potentials.

He also mentioned the success of the Alkyl Resin project from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Benin. Following this, the DG instructed that a comprehensive proposal be prepared for setting up a pilot plant on Alkyl Resin for seed oil production.
Professor Ike-Muonso was impressed with the commitment of the staff of Edo Office during his brief visit. He promised to help improve the state of the office after being briefed on the challenges faced by members of staff.
