The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) is set to deepen the global reach of its research outputs following a courtesy visit by Koozakar LLC, a United States–based research and publishing platform, to the Council’s headquarters on Thursday, 15th January 2026, the team were received by the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Professor Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso.
The team led by the Senior Consultant at Koozakar, Dr. A. Kazeem, said that the company is focused on advancing science, scholarship, and knowledge dissemination. He presented a proposal for a strategic publishing partnership aimed at hosting selected RMRDC research papers and technical materials on Koozakar’s digital platform, with particular emphasis on enhancing African-centered visibility and global impact.
Dr. Kazeem also highlighted its broader portfolio, which includes facilitating global academic meetings, fostering international collaborations, and creating long-term scholarly opportunities for authors, researchers, and institutions across the world. He further underscored the challenge of limited reach for locally published research.

“Some papers that are being published locally do not get the right amount of visibility they should get,” he said. “A working relationship with Koozakar matters because it will enable structured research and raw materials data sharing, and will also scale the national and global impact of RMRDC,” he added.
Dr. Kazeem noted that by leveraging Koozakar’s global network and digital infrastructure, RMRDC’s work on raw materials development could gain broader international readership and citation, thereby strengthening Nigeria’s profile in scientific and industrial research.
Speaking also, the Director of Collaborations at Koozakar, Mr. Victor Sobanke, added that the collaboration would be designed to serve as a long-term platform for continuous publishing, capacity building, and international engagement for RMRDC researchers and technical staff.
In his response, the Director General/CEO of RMRDC, Professor Ike-Muonso, expressed strong interest in working with Koozakar and indicated willingness to expand the scope of the proposed relationship.
He directed the visiting team to work closely with his Special Adviser, Professor John John Uket, to develop a concrete framework for the collaboration. As part of this framework, he stressed the need to first build the capacity of RMRDC staff.
“The company should work on training my staff first in writing proper publishable material,” he said, noting that quality of manuscripts is critical for acceptance and impact in reputable journals.
Professor Ike-Muonso also announced a new policy direction within the Council aimed at institutionalizing a stronger research and publishing culture. He stated that, beginning this year, having a published paper would be introduced as an advantage for promotion consideration for management-level staff, including Assistant Directors, Deputy Directors, and Directors. In addition, he said that for every conference or project undertaken by the Council, at least one journal paper should be produced as an output.
To support this shift, the DG disclosed that Koozakar’s team would be granted access to some of the Council’s existing materials, including YouTube lecture series and selected technical papers, with a view to developing them into fully peer-reviewed, publishable journal articles.
The proposed partnership, once formalized, is expected to enhance the visibility, credibility, and impact of RMRDC’s work on raw materials development, while providing staff with structured pathways to contribute to global scientific literature.
