In efforts to enhance operational efficiency and align with the Federal Government’s digital transformation drive, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Nasarawa State Coordinating Office, organized a retraining session recently for staff on the effective use of the Performance Management System (PMS).
The training, facilitated by a staff from the Council’s Headquarters, Mrs. Azuka Uchendu, provided participants with an in-depth orientation on the PMS platform. She explained that the retraining exercise is part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to ensure digital compliance and improved service delivery through technology-driven processes.
During the session, staff were introduced to the Council’s strategic goals and their corresponding enablers, as well as the key result areas, specific objectives, and performance indicators. A live demonstration of the Task Manager feature was conducted, showing practical steps in task assignment, execution, document, and performance reporting.
Mrs. A. Uchendu also walked participants in the system functions including login procedures, dashboard navigation, and document management all aimed at boosting staff familiarity and productivity using the PMS platform.
The session drew active engagement from participants, many of whom posed insightful questions that were promptly and effectively addressed by the facilitator.
Speaking at the event, the Nasarawa State Coordinator of RMRDC, Mr. Yakubu Alaku, emphasized the importance of having a firm grasp of the PMS, describing it as an essential tool for task delivery and organizational efficiency. He urged staff to demonstrate greater commitment and adapt swiftly to the system for improved performance outcomes.
Mr. Alaku also expressed gratitude to the Director General of RMRDC, Professor Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso for prioritizing capacity development across all levels of the Council. He described the retraining as timely and crucial in addressing operational challenges faced by the staff. The event has given the staff of the Nasarawa state coordinating office renewed enthusiasm and a shared commitment for more effective service delivery by leveraging on the endless possibilities for professionalism through the PMS.
