To reinforce performance accountability and operational excellence, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Zamfara State Coordinating Office, conducted the second phase of its Performance Management System (PMS) training on July 22, 2025. The session was designed to deepen staff capacity in effectively utilizing the PMS platform for task management, performance tracking, and improved service delivery aligned with the Council’s strategic mandate.
The training, led by Miss Halima Muhammad Bagudu, aimed to enhance staff proficiency in using PMS tools to improve task planning, execution, and evaluation. The session brought together both management and general staff members, reflecting the Council’s goal of ensuring system-wide adoption of performance-based practices.
Miss Bagudu began the session by reviewing the five strategic goals of RMRDC, linking each to
national priorities for industrial development and raw materials value addition. She emphasized the importance of aligning departmental objectives with these broader goals through the PMS framework. The focus then shifted to Key Result Areas (KRAs), with detailed explanations on setting measurable targets and aligning team deliverables to institutional priorities.
A core component of the training was the Task Manager module within the PMS, which facilitates efficient delegation, progress tracking, and feedback exchange. Staff were guided through practical steps for assigning, managing, and responding to tasks using the platform. Through live demonstrations and real-world scenarios, participants gained hands-on experience, helping to reinforce key functionalities of the system.
Interactive engagement marked the session, with staff asking relevant questions and offering feedback on how to integrate PMS tools into daily workflows. The collaborative atmosphere highlighted the growing enthusiasm among staff to embrace digital tools for enhanced service delivery.
In his closing remarks, the Zamfara State Coordinator, Mr. Y.M. Hayatu, commended the facilitator for her clarity and thoroughness. He encouraged all staff to internalize and apply the PMS processes, noting that accountability and performance tracking are vital to RMRDC’s operational effectiveness and grassroots impact.
