In a moving celebration of service and legacy, the Enugu State Coordinating Office of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) held a grand send-forth ceremony on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, to honour two esteemed officers—Dr. (Mrs.) Pauline Obianuko and Dr. (Mrs.) Lizzy U. Arinze-Nwosu.
Dr. Obianuko, who officially retired from active service in February 2025, was praised for her decades-long dedication and exemplary contributions to the Council’s mandate. Dr. Arinze-Nwosu, formerly stationed at the Enugu office, was recently redeployed and now serves as the State Coordinator for Anambra.
The event, hosted by the current Enugu State Coordinator, Engr. Henrietta Ude, drew the full complement of staff in a spirited show of unity and appreciation. Colleagues offered glowing tributes, recounting the honourees’ leadership, mentorship, and lasting impact on the Council’s work culture.
Offering parting wisdom, Dr. Obianuko encouraged serving staff to plan ahead for life after public service. “When we retire, our needs and bills do not retire. only our salary does,” she noted, a remark that drew approving nods from the audience.
Highlights of the event included presentation of gifts, music, and refreshments, adding warmth and colour to an afternoon of gratitude and reflection. The send-forth not only celebrated the distinguished careers of the honourees but also underscored the values of professionalism, dedication, and respect that define the Council.
As the Enugu office bids farewell to two of its finest, the legacy of service and mentorship they leave behind will continue to guide and inspire a new generation of RMRDC professionals.
