The newly appointed Director-General of the Niger State Commodity and Export Promotion Agency, Hajiya Fatima Ndayako, has reaffirmed her agency’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) during a courtesy visit to the council’s coordinating office in Minna.
Hajiya Ndayako, who was accompanied by her Technical Assistant and Director of Administration, Baba Etsu Yankpa, described the visit as a strategic step towards deepening inter-agency cooperation to promote value addition, export development, and the sustainable use of local raw materials in the state.
During her address, she acknowledged the longstanding partnership between the two agencies, highlighting joint efforts such as the regular export commodity quarterly meetings, the supply of improved seed varieties through the RMRDC’s Crop Boosting Programme, and the provision of commodity cleaning machines.

“Our agency is ready to work closely with RMRDC to identify and harness Niger State’s abundant natural resources for economic growth,” she said.
In his response, the Niger State Coordinator of RMRDC, Dr. Abdulrasheed Mohammed, welcomed the visit, describing it as timely and significant. He reiterated the council’s readiness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to unlock the full potential of the state’s raw material base.
The meeting also served as a platform to discuss key areas for future collaboration. Both parties deliberated on the upcoming Investor’s Forum on Shea Nut Value Chain Development, scheduled for June 2025, as well as the establishment of a commodity market based on Niger State’s comparative advantages.
Other areas identified for partnership include commodity mapping, industrial research, capacity building, and support for small-scale producers.
