In a significant move to foster collaboration and drive raw materials development across the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Coordinating Office of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) paid a strategic visit to the Area Council Services Secretariat (ACSS) of the FCTA in Garki, Abuja.
The visit, led by the FCT Coordinator, Mr. Olatubosun Olajubu, was received by the Head of Information, who rep of the Mandate Secretary Mrs. Anozie Izibian was aimed at building a robust working relationship with the Secretariat and strengthening ties with the six Area Councils within the FCT.
During the meeting, Mr. Olajubu highlighted the Council’s mandate, ongoing initiatives, and the importance of grassroots collaboration in driving raw materials research, development, and industrial growth. He also provided insight into the Council’s upcoming flagship events—the African Raw Materials Summit (May 20–22, 2025) and the Investors’ Forum (July 7–8, 2025)—inviting the participation of ACSS.
He further appealed for ACSS’s support in linking RMRDC with the six Area Councils to facilitate community-level outreach and industrial extension services.
In her response, Mrs. Anozie appreciated the Council’s efforts and conveyed the regrets of the Mandate Secretary, who was attending a legislative assignment. She commended the Council’s programs and assured the delegation of the Secretariat’s commitment to facilitate engagement with the Area Councils and support all upcoming initiatives.
The meeting concluded with mutual assurances of collaboration and a shared vision for local economic development through raw materials value chain enhancement. A group photograph was taken to commemorate the successful visit.
