In a strategic move to transform agro-processing in Nigeria, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) Kano Coordinating Office is working towards a strategic partnership with Dansilke Fabrication Company. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of agro-raw materials processing, which is vital for adding value to the country’s agricultural output.
According to the representative of the RMRDC Mrs. Ruqayya Abubakar, who led the RMRDC team to the factory, the partnership is a critical step towards achieving the Council’s mandate of promoting the development and utilization of Agro-raw materials in the country.
“Agro-processing is more than just a supplementary step; it generates billions in economic impact by boosting agricultural products beyond the farm gate. However, the industry has been plagued by issues such as poor quality, low output, and labor-intensive methods. RMRDC is stepping in to tackle these challenges head-on, leveraging the expertise of Dansilke Fabrication Company, known for its state-of-the-art agro-processing machinery”, she stated.

She also emphasized that innovations are critical in addressing the persistent obstacles that have hindered agro-raw material supply in Kano and beyond. She said Insights gathered during the industrial monthly visits reveal the extent of challenges faced by many industries. For example, one visit to an agro-processing company in Sharada Industrial Estate showcased laborious methods of frying groundnuts and soya beans, producing subpar quality and output.
She explained that to change the narrative, RMRDC has seized the opportunity to connect with struggling processing companies like Dansilke to sort ways to proffer solutions. As a result, the company has placed an order for three locally fabricated gas-powered automated drum rotary fryers, a significant step toward improving their operations.
Ruqayya also expressed the commitment of RMRDC to link all agro-raw materials processing firms and commodity markets—especially the Dawanau International Market—with fabricators capable of overcoming quality and efficiency hurdles.
Engr. Nura Muhammad, Managing Director of Dansilke Fabrication Company, praised RMRDC’s initiative, affirming that such collaborations will not only bolster business but also inspire further innovation in agro-processing machinery manufacturing.
