RMRDC Shines at 44th FEPSGA Games with Multiple Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals

The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) recorded an impressive outing at the 44th edition of the 2025 Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA), winning multiple gold, silver and bronze medals across various sporting events.

The annual championship, which officially commenced on December 11, 2025, is being hosted by the Adamawa State Government in Yola. The opening ceremony was held at the Mahmud Ribadu Square, Yola, and was formally declared open by the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State. Other sporting activities are taking place at the Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola Sports Centre.

The Deputy Director, Directorate of Corporate Affairs (DCA), Dr. (Mrs) Grace Abidoye Displays her Silver medal won at the 44th FEPSGA held in Yola, Adamawa State.

This year’s FEPSGA Games mark the 44th edition of the competition and make Adamawa State only the second state in the Northeast geopolitical zone to host the prestigious event,

Over 10,000 athletes drawn from about 84 Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the country are participating, competing in 15 sporting events including football, athletics (track and field), basketball, volleyball, handball, table tennis, badminton, lawn tennis, scrabble, ayo and other board games.

The RMRDC team, led by Sports Chairman Engr. Amina Abdullmalik and supported by Sports Consultant Mr. Ambrose Udeh, distinguished itself with impressive performances across both team and individual events. The Council secured a bronze medal in the men’s basketball competition, adding to its growing medal tally.

In tennis, Ebere Okoro of RMRDC emerged as a standout performer, showcasing skill and resilience on the court. while in tennis, RMRDC’s Ebere Okoro emerged as one of the standout athletes of the games, winning gold in the women’s singles event. She also partnered with Danjuma Kolo to secure gold in the mixed doubles, while claiming silver in the women’s doubles alongside Stephanie Tsegba.

RMRDC also excelled in board games, with Dr. (Mrs) Grace Abidoye and Adline Madu winning silver in the Scrabble female doubles, successfully defending their previous medals. In the Ayo game, Dele Fatoyinbo and Victoria Chinweike won silver in the mixed doubles, and also secured bronze after defeating the Federal Ministry of Finance team 2–0.

In athletics, the RMRDC 4×100 metres relay team, comprising Attah, Aliyu Alfa, Abdulazeez Mohammed Labbo (Sokoto office) and Musa Shehu, won a bronze medal.

The FEPSGA Games, themed around unity and synergy, are designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, healthy competition and national integration among public servants. RMRDC’s strong showing at the Yola games showcased the Council, under the leadership of the Director General/CEO, Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso, commitment to staff welfare, teamwork and excellence through sports.
