The Osun State Coordinating Office of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting indigenous entrepreneurs during a courtesy visit to the Technology Incubation Centre Ile-Ife (TIC), Ile-Ife.
The visit, which was conducted by management staff of both agencies and resident entrepreneurs, focused on strengthening collaboration, promoting value addition to local raw materials and enhancing the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) in the state.
In his welcome address, the Centre Manager, Alhaji Lasisi Kamoru, who was represented by Mr. Izak Adeniyi, warmly received the RMRDC delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit. He highlighted the mandate of the Technology Incubation Centre, emphasizing its role in nurturing startups and transforming innovative ideas into viable businesses.
He explained that the Centre operates different categories of entrepreneurs, particularly resident entrepreneurs who are provided with workspace and technical support within the facility. According to him, these entrepreneurs undergo structured training, mentoring and monitoring until they become self-sustaining and capable of operating independently outside the Centre.
Mr. Adeniyi noted that the incubation programme has contributed significantly to job creation and economic empowerment in Osun State. He called for stronger collaboration with RMRDC, especially in areas of raw materials sourcing, product development and industrial linkage to further enhance the productivity of incubatees.

Speaking during the visit, the Osun State Coordinator of RMRDC, Adeyemi Saheed A., commended the management of the Centre for its dedication to entrepreneurship development and capacity building.
He reiterated RMRDC’s mandate of promoting the development and optimal utilization of Nigeria’s abundant raw materials for sustainable industrial growth. He stressed that synergy between both agencies would create greater opportunities for entrepreneurs, particularly in the area of value addition and commercialization of locally sourced materials.
Mr. Adeyemi assured the Centre of the Council’s readiness to provide technical advisory services, industrial data and policy support that would help incubated businesses scale up and compete favorably in the market.
He also encouraged entrepreneurs at the Centre to remain innovative and take advantage of RMRDC’s programmes designed to support local production and reduce reliance on imported inputs.

The visit concluded with mutual agreement to deepen collaboration through joint programmes, capacity-building initiatives and continuous engagement. Stakeholders described the meeting as productive and forward-looking, laying a solid foundation for enhanced industrial development, innovation, and employment generation in Osun State.
