In a show of support for small-scale industrial development, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has commended the Nigerian Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Oyo State Chapter, for its continued commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and driving local industry.
The commendation came during the inauguration ceremony of NASSI’s newly elected executives, held at The Pavilion, EXPOYO Complex, Ibadan, on Tuesday, July 9, 2025. The event brought together key stakeholders from government agencies, the private sector, and association members, all united in their shared vision for sustainable industrial growth.
Representing RMRDC at the event was the Oyo State Coordinator, Mr. O.A. Adeogun (Assistant Director), accompanied by Mrs. R.A. Adesina. Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the Council, Mr. Adeogun reaffirmed RMRDC’s unwavering support for NASSI and its mission.
“RMRDC has over the years stood by NASSI, and we will continue to collaborate to ensure that small-scale industries remain the backbone of Nigeria’s industrial growth,” he said. He stressed the importance of encouraging local content development, advocating for increased use of locally sourced raw materials, and reducing the nation’s dependence on imported inputs.

Earlier in the ceremony, Dr. Abel Ojo welcomed guests and applauded the association’s achievements over the past four years. “NASSI has continued to be the voice of small-scale industries in Nigeria, ensuring that our members are supported and given the right opportunities to grow and sustain their enterprises,” he remarked.
The event featured goodwill messages from representatives of key government agencies, including the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON). Each agency pledged continued collaboration and reaffirmed their dedication to fostering small-scale industrial growth in the state.
The highlight of the day was the official swearing-in of the new executive members. Certificates of return were presented by Mrs. Oyindamola Phinero, followed by the administration of the oath of allegiance.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Mr. Abraham Ogunjide, promised to build on the foundation laid by his predecessors. “We are committed to working closely with stakeholders like RMRDC, NAFDAC, ITF, SMEDAN, and SON to ensure our members are empowered and small-scale industries thrive in Oyo State,” he said.
The inauguration was widely hailed as a milestone event for the association, reinforcing NASSI’s role as a critical driver of grassroots industrial development and a key partner in Nigeria’s journey toward inclusive economic growth.
