The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Zamfara State Coordinating Office, has initiated a strategic partnership with the Zamfara State Investment and Property Development Company (ZIPDC) aimed at advancing raw materials development, value addition and investment-driven industrialisation in the state.
The collaboration was reinforced during a courtesy visit by a high-level delegation from ZIPDC to the RMRDC office in Gusau on June 4, 2026.
The delegation was led by the Managing Director of ZIPDC, Hajiya Amina Mustapha Ismail, and included the Deputy Director of Legal Services, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf, as well as the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Alhaji Yusuf Habibu.
The visit followed a formal proposal earlier submitted by the RMRDC Zamfara State Coordinating Office, seeking collaboration with the investment company on the development of the castor seed value chain and the establishment of skincare product manufacturing initiatives in the state.
Welcoming the delegation, the Zamfara State Coordinator of RMRDC, Mr. Muhammad Gabo-Yaro, expressed appreciation for the visit and reiterated the Council’s commitment to building strategic partnerships capable of driving industrial growth, value addition and sustainable economic development.
Gabo-Yaro noted that collaboration between both organisations would unlock opportunities within Zamfara’s abundant raw materials resources and create pathways for increased investment and enterprise development.
Speaking during the meeting, the Managing Director of ZIPDC, Hajiya Amina Mustapha Ismail, outlined the company’s planned investment programmes, which include the development of skincare products, expansion of the zobo value chain and other agro-based ventures.
She stressed the importance of technical collaboration with RMRDC, describing the Council as a critical partner in providing the expertise and support required to ensure the successful implementation of the proposed projects.
In his response, the RMRDC State Coordinator welcomed the proposed areas of collaboration and assured the delegation of the Council’s readiness to provide technical support and facilitate stakeholder engagement across the state.
According to him, the Council intends to promote the formation of agribusiness clusters that will bring together farmers, processors, marketers, exporters and investors around the proposed projects. Such clusters, he said, would enhance coordination, improve market access and ensure sustainable implementation of the initiatives.
He further disclosed that RMRDC would support structured sensitisation programmes targeted at key stakeholders across Zamfara State, particularly farmers, marketers and exporters, to increase awareness of investment opportunities and improve access to financing mechanisms.
The initiative, he explained, is expected to stimulate greater participation in the state’s raw materials value chains while strengthening local production and processing capacities.
Both organisations expressed confidence that the emerging partnership would contribute significantly to job creation, industrial expansion, value addition and broader economic growth in Zamfara State.
They also agreed to develop a comprehensive framework document that will guide the partnership, clearly define implementation strategies and institutionalise all areas of cooperation to ensure effective execution of the proposed projects.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to exploring practical areas of collaboration that will promote local raw materials development, attract investment and enhance economic opportunities across Zamfara.
