The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has intensified efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and cybersecurity framework with the deployment of enhanced information technology support services to its Akwa Ibom State Coordinating Office.
The Deputy Director, Software Development Division, ICT Infrastructure Management Department of the Council, Mr Peter Isangedighi, was in the Akwa-Ibom State Office to coordinate the process of the software and other computer systems installations.
Mr Isangedighi, who was received by the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator, Mr Akpan A.J., and members of staff, explained that the initiative was aimed improving the Informaton and Communication Technology of the Council across all the states to promote work efficiency.
He stressed that maintaining a secure digital environment had become imperative for effective service delivery, protection of sensitive records and reduction of system downtime within public institutions.
The ICT expert also urged staff members to remain informed about the Council’s activities and maximise opportunities provided through the Performance Management System (PMS), which he described as a strategic platform for monitoring productivity, promoting accountability and improving organisational performance.
Speaking during the visit, the State Coordinator, Mr Akpan, commended the management of the Council for prioritising the security and resilience of its digital infrastructure.
According to him, the process will improve the reliability of office computer systems, minimise the risk of data loss and enhance staff productivity through uninterrupted access to digital resources.
He also said that the initiative would further strengthen the administrative capacity of the state office by providing robust protection against cyber threats while supporting efficient electronic documentation, communication and data management processes.
Responding, the State Coordinator, Mr. Akpan thanked the Director General, RMRDC Prof, Nnanyelugo for the interventions and said the staff is encouraged to put in their best in ensuring the mandate of the Council is achieved. He noted that the initiative is expected to improve service delivery, facilitate the seamless execution of official responsibilities and reinforce the Council’s commitment to deploying modern digital solutions for effective administration.
