As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance operations, the Director General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof. Nnanyelugo Martins Ike-Muonso, expressed the council’s readiness to partner with Xerox Company for staff training on efficient document management systems and to collaborate on research and development projects.
The Director General made this known during a courtesy visit by a delegation from Xerox to the RMRDC headquarters in Abuja on November 26, 2024.
He said that the council is ready to partner with Xerox to train RMRDC staff in a data management system, which will improve staff efficiency and productivity while handling office files and equipment and enable the effective use of the equipment that will be purchased.
According to the Director General of RMRDC, “The first step is to educate our people on how to use the equipment before thinking of the supporting technology so that they can make a choice of the technology they feel it’s better for them in other to make sure that the equipment that will be procured will be used effectively”
Speaking further, the DG said that the council will also partner with the Xerox company in the area of Research and Development because the Council has just perfected some research on paper making and would like to go into partnerships in paper making, conducting more research on toner production and how to use our local resources for the production process which will, in turn, discourage importing what we already have from another country.
Earlier, the Deputy General Manager of Xerox company, Mr. Tijani Okolo said that Xerox has been in partnership with RMRDC for some years and they would like to continue with it and move it to the next level because they have improved their technology and have added some features to their equipment for effective office use.
While appreciating the DG of RMRDC for the prospects of a strategic partnership with the council, Mr. Tijani informed of their preparedness to train RMRDC staff on document management systems and how to use the equipment professionally to enhance productivity
