Mr Sallau also highlighted the Centre’s annual flagship programme known as “Gen-Z Innovation Competition,” an initiative designed to identify, nurture, and support talented young innovators across the Country. According to him, winners from the state-level competition advance to the Zonal, National, and international stages, where they showcase their innovative talent and compete with peers from other regions and countries of the world.

He noted that a strategic partnership between RMRDC and TIC would provide greater opportunities for talented youths in Zamfara State to develop innovative solutions, transform ideas into viable businesses, and contribute meaningfully to economic growth.

Responding, the RMRDC State Coordinator, Mr Muhammad Gambo-Yaro, appreciated the delegation’s visit and expressed the Council’s readiness to work closely with the Technology Incubation Centre in areas of common interest.

He reiterated RMRDC’s commitment to promoting Innovation, Value-addition, Industrial development, raw materials utilisation, and youth entrepreneurship, stressing that collaboration with TIC would create a stronger platform for training, mentoring, and supporting emerging innovators in the state.

Both organisations agreed on the need to deepen cooperation in two key areas: joint training and entrepreneurship development programmes (in collaboration with the state government), and the promotion of youth innovation through initiatives such as the Gen-Z Innovation Competition.

The meeting ended with a shared commitment to fostering innovation, encouraging creativity among young people, and supporting the emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of driving sustainable economic development in Zamfara State and Nigeria at large.
